Red wine
Dom Perignon · 2002
The wine underwent full malolactic fermentation and was aged for approximately 7 to 8 years on its lees in Moët & Chandon’s sprawling, historic chalk cellars in Épernay before its initial disgorgements (starting in mid-2009) with a precise dosage of around 5 to 6 g/l. The 2002 growing season in Champagne is regarded as a legendary, "prodigious" vintage. Near perfect weather conditions throughout the year—marked by a warm, dry spring and an exceptionally hot, sunny August and September—yielded grapes with extraordinary sugar levels, high concentration, and remarkable aromatic ripeness.
